Hidden Glasgow presents: Rollerstop!
Hidden Glasgow presents: Rollerstop!
We're going for a funky vibe with today's recommendation! We're showcasing Rollerstop, taking you back to the 80's with their roller disco!
About Rollerstop:
Rollerstop began in 2012 as a mobile roller disco, travelling to venues all over Scotland. After a very successful crowdfunding campaign and community support, their purpose built rink was created in 2015 in the Southside. They run roller discos for all - families, adult nights, lessons, and even special events for the LGBTQ+ community, and families with additional support needs. How is Rollerstop hidden?
Rollerstop can be found a short walk between Shields Road and Kinning Park subway stations, or the 9 First Bus goes down Paisley Road West, which is a 5 min walk from the rink. Rollerstop is tucked away in the industrial estate, but well worth the visit to get your groove on!Why should I go to Rollerstop?
The roller rink is a unique space, being Glasgow's only roller skating venue!
It's incredibly accessible, with the youngest age on the rink being 4 years old, and coaches available at every session - so if you're new to skating, or haven't done in years, help is at hand! They also host a disco for those with accessible needs every month, ensuring that everyone has the chance for some fun on wheels. If you're on a budget, the Tuesday skate is only £6 with free skate hire, and lessons also come with entry to the disco and free hire - great value!
